Browns Worked Out Veteran CB Leodis McKelvin

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Browns brought in free agent CB Leodis McKelvin for a workout on Tuesday.

Last we heard regarding McKelvin, he worked out for the Falcons back in November but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.

McKelvin, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2008. After eight years in Buffalo, the Eagles signed him to a two-year, $6.2 million contract that included $3 million guaranteed last year.

However, Philadelphia released him this last February in a move that freed up $3.2 million of available cap space.

In 2016, McKelvin appeared in 13 games for the Eagles and recorded 43 tackles, two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown and 15 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 71 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
