Browns Working Out Veteran LB Joe Mays

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Browns are working out veteran LB Joe Mays on Tuesday.

This is the first reported interest in Mays since the season got underway over a month ago.

Mays, 30, is a former sixth round pick of the Eagles back in 2008. He spent two years in Philadelphia before being traded to the Broncos. Since then, Mays has played for the Texans, Chiefs, and most recently for the Jets.

Unfortunately for Mays, he was among the Jets’ final roster cuts at the start of the season.

In 2014, Mays appeared in eight games and recorded 20 tackles and a fumble recovery for the Chiefs. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 122 total snaps last year.
