Rishard Matthews Scheduled To Work Out For Browns & Cardinals

According to Adam Schefter, the Browns are scheduled to work out former Titans WR Rishard Matthews on Monda and the Cardinals on Tuesday.

A couple of days ago, Schefter reported that “multiple teams” are interested in Matthews and the expectation is that he’ll sign with a new team at some point in the near future.

These are the first two teams with confirmed interest in Matthews since becoming a free agent.

Matthews, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2012. He spent four years in Miami before signing a three-year, $15 million contract with the Titans in 2016.

Matthews was set to make a base salary of $5 million for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new one-year extension last month worth a base value of $7.75M for the 2019 season. The Titans elected to cut him loose shortly after he requested his release from the team.

In 2018, Matthews has appeared in three games and caught three passes for 11 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
