Pat McManamon and Adam Schefter are reporting that Browns WR Corey Coleman has been named in a police report for an alleged felonious assault that took place the morning of Dec. 31.

David Mulugheta, the agent for Coleman, released a statement (via Adam Schefter) regarding a recent incident involving his client.

Unfortunately Corey Coleman’s name has surfaced in a police report concerning an incident that occurred in the lobby of the apartment complex in which he lives. Corey, while aware of the incident, denies the allegations that have been made and looks forward to clearing his name.”

According to the police report, the incident resulted in victim Adam Sapp being hospitalized with a ruptured eardrum and a concussion.

Sapp and witness Nina Holman were talking toward the elevator when four men got off the elevator.

A verbal confrontation took place and Sapp is reportedly “unclear of what happened next, but he was woken up by Nina Holman in a stairwell.

Sapp is unable to identify any of the four men, even though the police report states that Holman mentioned Coleman was among those involved in the incident. However, Holman told a friend she was staying with that Coleman “beat up Sapp.”

Police are still investigating the incident and it’s possible that there could be video evidence.

We’ll have more regarding Coleman and the incident as the news is available.
