Bruce Irvin Won’t Be Returning To Seahawks, Has Interest From Several Teams

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing multiple league sources, reports that the Seahawks have accepted that free agent OLB BruceĀ Irvin will be signing elsewhere.

Even though Irvin had said that he’s be willing to return to Seattle if the money was close, Florio mentions that this won’t be case.

In fact, a source tells Florio that the bridge between Irvin and the team was “burned” by their decision to not exercise the fifth-year option.

According to Florio, there are several teams in the running forĀ Irvin, includingĀ the Cardinals. Another team mentioned by Florio is the Jaguars.

Ian Rapoport of NFL MediaĀ previously reported that theĀ Jaguars andĀ Falcons have “clear interest” inĀ Irvin with theĀ CardinalsĀ beingĀ a team worth keeping an eye on.

Irvin is widely consideredĀ to be one of the best pass-rushers in this year’s free agent class, which leaves him in a great position to cash in on a big-money contract. He has already been linked to every team in need of pass-rush help, so it will be interesting to see what kind of money he gets.

Irvin, 28, is a former first round pick of the Seahawks back in 2012. He played out the final seasonĀ of his rookie contract after the Seahawks elected not to pick up his fifth-year option last year.

In 2015, Irvin appeared in 15 games and recorded 38 tackles, 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two pass defenses.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15Ā linebacker in a 4-3 defenseĀ out of 35Ā qualifying players.
