Bryan Stork Expected To Report To Redskins This Weekend, Despite Retirement Talk

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that newly acquired Redskins reports C Bryan Stork will report to the Redskins this weekend.

Stork had a pretty crazy day on Wednesday, as reports first surfaced that he was being waived by the Patriots. However, the Patriots wound up trading him to the Redskins in return for a 2017 conditional seventh-round pick.

It was shortly after that reports started saying that retirement was a possibility for Stork, so it was questionable whether he would ever play for the Redskins.

In regards to how the trade went down, Jeff Howe reported that Redskins GM Scot McCloughan checked the transaction wire, but noticed nothing was official, so he called Patriots executive Nick Caserio about a trade.

Stork, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2014. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.697 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $600,00 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Stork appeared in eight games for the Patriots. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 21 center out of 39 qualifying players last year.
