Buccaneers Bringing In Former Chiefs K Cairo Santos For Physical

Adam Schefter reports that the Buccaneers are bringing in former Chiefs K Cairo Santos for a physical to see where he is in his recovery from an adductor strain.

According to Schefter, Santos is likely two weeks away from being able to return.

Tampa Bay is hosting a group of kickers on Monday for tryouts (NFLTR), as they try to fix their kicking game after Nick Folk missed three field goals on Thursday.

Santos, 25, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane back in 2014. He returned to the Chiefs this past March on a one-year restricted deal worth $1.797 million.

Kansas City elected to place him on injured reserve with a groin strain a few weeks ago and cut him loose with a settlement soon after.

In 2017, Santos has appeared in three games and converted all three of his field goal attempts along with 12 of 12 extra point tries.

We’ll have more regarding Buccaneers as the news is available.
