Buccaneers LB Kwon Alexander Out For Season With Torn ACL

Update

Adam Schefter reports that an MRI on Buccaneers LB Kwon Alexander’s knee confirmed that he has a torn ACL and is out for the season.

You can expect the Buccaneers to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo are reporting that the Buccaneers are concerned that LB Kwon Alexander suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s game.

This would be terrible news for Alexander, who had been discussing a long-term extension with the Buccaneers.

Alexander will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Alexander, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2,758,320 contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

Alexander will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career next year.

Entering today’s game, Alexander had appeared in five games and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles and a pass defense.
