Buccaneers DE Da’Quan Bowers Suspended Two Games For PED Violation

The NFL has announced that Buccaneers DE Da’Quan Bowers has been suspended two games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Bowers’ suspension begins immediately and he’ll be eligible to return to their active roster on November 3.

Bowers, 24, has been a major disappointment ever since the Buccaneers used a second-round pick on him back in 2010. He’s missed nine games in the past two years with injuries and has been largely ineffective when healthy.

This is hardly the type of news the Buccaneers what to hear regarding a player that is in the final year of his rookie contract.

It seems almost certain that Tampa Bay will move on next year.

Bowers has recorded just six tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery over the course of five games.
