Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul Says His Knee Is “Jacked Up”

Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul was asked about how he was feeling after sporting a large brace on his right knee Wednesday.

My knee is jacked up. Banged up,” Pierre-Paul said, per Rick Stroud. “Ask me if I can play Sunday, I don’t know.”

It would be a big loss if the Buccaneers don’t have Pierre-Paul for their Week 2 matchup with the Eagles.

Pierre-Paul, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with New York before agreeing to a four-year, $62 million contract that includes $40 million guaranteed.

The Giants traded Pierre-Paul to the Buccaneers during the offseason for third- and fourth-round picks.

Pierre-Paul stands to make base salaries of $11,250,000 (2018), $13,250,000 (2019) and $11,250,000 (2020) over the remainder of the contract.

In 2018, Pierre-Paul has appeared in one game for the Buccaneers but did not record a statistic.

We’ll have more regarding Pierre-Paul as the news is available.
