Buccaneers Discussing Trade Down Scenarios With 3 Teams, Could Move Out Of Rd. 1

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers are talking with at least three teams about trading back in the first round, and possibly even out of round one altogether.

The Buccaneers are sitting at No. 19, which figures to be a decent spot to get a solid prospect. However, you could make the case that there should be a number of players of equal value at that point. By moving down the Buccaneers could pick up some additional draft picks and still get a decent player.

Moving out of round 1 altogether would be somewhat of a surprise, but it should net them multiple mid-round picks to work with.

It’s possible that teams interested in trading up with the Buccaneers are eyeing some of the quarterbacks. There was talk last night that while many seemed to think quarterbacks could come off the board in the top 15, it now appears to be more likely that only one will be drafted that high, which could lead to a few prospects sliding in the late teens or early 20s.

One other possibility is that teams may have interest in an offensive lineman. A report from yesterday said that a run of o-line prospects could begin around this point in the draft.

Any team is almost certainly contingent on specific players being available, so I wouldn’t expect anything to get down before tomorrow night.

We’ll have more regarding a potential Buccaneers’ trade as the news is available.
