Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Buccaneers are expected to re-sign QB Ryan Fitzpatrick before the start of free agency next week.

It looks like the Buccaneers were happy with what Fitzpatrick did for the team as Jameis Winston’s back last year and wanted to ensure he’d be back in Tampa Bay for the 2018 season.

Fitzpatrick, 35, is a former seventh-round pick of the Rams back in 2005. He’s played for several teams over the course of his 13-year NFL career including the Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans and Jets before he signed on with the Buccaneers last year.

Fitzpatrick was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2017, Fitzpatrick appeared in six games for the Buccaneers and threw for 1,103 yards while completing 58.9 percent of his passes to go along with seven touchdowns and three interceptions.
