Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers are expected to sign veteran C Joe Hawley to a contract at some point today.

The Bucs brought Hawley in a for a workout last week and he has obvious ties to Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.

Hawley, 26, was taken in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Falcons. Atlanta wound up signing him to a two-year, $6 million contract that included $3 million guaranteed back in March of 2014.

However, Hawley was unfortunately among the Falcons’ recent roster cuts.

In 2014, Hawley was limited to appearing in just four games after he sustained a knee injury and was later placed on season-ending injured reserve.
