Following Jason Babin‘s somewhat surprising release Thursday morning, Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports mentions that the Buccaneers and Falcons could be two teams with interest in signing the former Jaguar.
Garafolo points out that Tampa Bay and Atlanta have both been “testing the waters on veteran pass rushers” in recent weeks, so there is a chance that they could at least reach out to him in the coming days.
Babin, 34, recorded 40 tackles, 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles for the Jaguars defense. According to Pro Football Focus, Babin graded out as the No. 8 defensive end in a 4-3 system in terms of pass-rushing ability.
With this in mind, it would not be surprising to see him generate interest in the coming days as there aren’t very many pass-rushers available at this point in the year.
