Buccaneers Have LeGarrette Blount Atop Their Depth Chart

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released their first depth chart of the season and the most noteworthy change or lack thereof is the fact that LeGarrette Blount is the team’s No. 1 running back ahead of rookie Doug Martin.

This honestly could end up being just a formality as Martin hasn’t even received a single carry in an NFL. All of the reports coming out of training camp have suggested that Martin is clear favorite to not only secure the job, but most likely a larger split of the team’s carries this season. Blount was a huge disappointment last year and hasn’t done much to justify being No. 1 running back on the roster, especially when you consider that they’re implementing a new offensive system, which negates his experience to some extent.

I’d be surprised to not see Martin’s name ahead of Blount by the beginning of September.
