Buccaneers Hosting G Dan Connolly For A Visit

Ross Jones of FOX Sports reports that the Buccaneers are bringing in Patriots free agent G Dan Connolly for a visit on Tuesday.

There hasn’t been a great deal of buzz regarding Connolly since free agency got underway a few weeks ago.

Mike Reiss mentioned this past weekend that the Patriots will allow Connolly to test the market while keeping an open dialogue with him about a possible return.

Before that, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Connolly had interest from the Seahawks, Buccaneers, Bears, and Dolphins. However, this is the first reported interest since then.

Connolly, 32, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Southeast Missouri State back in 2005. He spent a little over a year with Jacksonville before he was waived and later caught on with the Patriots.

In 2014, Connolly appeared in 13 games for the Patriots and played a total of 630 snaps. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 72 guard  out of 78 qualifying players.
