Buccaneers Looking To The Free Agent Market For Solutions

Tampa Bay Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik spoke about the teams plan for the offseason today by mentioning that they’ll be shopping for player in free agency. Normally, this isn’t very news worthy but Dominik has been reluctant to sign free agents in years past so the change of direction but be a way to appease the teams fan base.

“We understand we’re not a finished product,” Dominik acknowledged, per the Tampa Bay Times. “I know that there’s things we need to address on this team and I know that we’ll do it in all capacities. We’re going to do it in free agency. I don’t want people to be worried that we’re not going to spend in free agency. We’ll be involved.”

The Buc’s need help at a number of positions. Secondary is at the top of the list along with an outside linebacker and offensive tackle but they could also use some added depth at the skill positions. The free agent market for out linebackers and offensive tackles are limited so there’s a chance that they’ll target a cornerback, safety, wide receiver or running back in March.

Lots of work lies ahead for this franchise so it will be interesting to see just how aggressive they are in the coming months.
