Buccaneers Lose K Connor Barth For The Season, Sign Lawrence Tynes

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Wednesday that K Connor Barth will miss the entire 2013 season after he suffered a torn Achilles tendon.

  • The Bucs also announced the signing of former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes.
  • The injury reportedly happened during a charity basketball game.

Barth, 27, signed a four-year, $13.2 million just last season and has been of the leagues most consistent place kickers in recent years.

As for Tynes, he spent the 2012 season with the Giants and finished the year making 33-of-39 field goals, which was clearly his best year in the NFL.

He is certainly not the worst option to grab after losing your kicker to a serious injury, so this shouldn’t be major setback for the Buccaneers.
