The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Wednesday that they’ve placed S Justin Evans, LB Adarius Glanton, CB Vernon Hargreaves, TE O.J. Howard and G J.R. Sweezy on injured reserve.
- Buccaneers signed OL Adam Gettis and CB David Rivers.
- Buccaneers promoted LB Nigel Harris, S Isaiah Johnson and DL Channing Ward to their active roster.
- Buccaneers signed FB Austin Johnson, WR Devin Lucien and OL Avery Young to their practice squad.
The Buccaneers’ practice squad now consists of:

- DE Patrick Gamble

Howard, 23, was taken in the first round of this year’s NFL draft by the Buccaneers. He signed a four-year, $11.094 million contract that included a $6.208 million signing bonus and he stands to make base salaries of $969,312 and $1.47 million over the next two years.
Howard’s contract includes a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.
In 2017, Howard appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and caught 26 passes for 432 yards receiving and six touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 tight end out of 74 qualifying players.
