Buccaneers Place CB Mike Jenkins On I.R.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they have placed CB Mike Jenkins on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday.

Jenkins had missed some time during the preseason with a hamstring injury, but he wound up suffering pectoral injury during the team’s season opener.

Jenkins, 29, signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with Buccaneers back in March. He is a former first-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys where he spent the first five years of his NFL career before signing a one-year contract the Raiders last season.

Last season, he appeared in 15 games in 2013 and totaled 65 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a recovery. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 66 cornerback in the league last year.
