Buccaneers Place DL George Johnson On Injured Reserve

Jenna Laine of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers have placed DE George Johnson on injured reserve with a fractured hip.

Johnson, 28, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in 2010. After a brief stint with the Vikings, the Lions signed Johnson to a contract back in April of 2014.

Detroit later traded him to the Buccaneers in return for a 2015 fifth-round pick that ultimately became Michael Burton.

In 2015, Johnson appeared in 11 games and recorded 23 tackles, no sacks, two forced fumbles and a recovery for the Buccaneers.
