Buccaneers Place S Chris Conte On I.R.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed S Chris Conte on season-ending injured reserve Friday with a knee injury, according to Greg Auman.

Conte, 26, singed a one-year, $1.5 million contract that included a $250,000 signing bonus with the Buccaneers in March of last year. He’ll make a base salary of $1 million before testing the open market again in a few months.

In 2015, Conte appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 80 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 58 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
