Buccaneers Promote CB Javien Elliott, Sign RB Dare Ogunbowale To PS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have officially promoted CB Javien Elliott from the practice squad to their active roster and also signed RB Dare Ogunbowale to the practice squad.

Elliott, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in 2016. He played out the final year of his rookie contract and was in line to be a restricted free agent this offseason.

However, it appears as though the Bucs and Elliott were able to reach an agreement on a new deal worth less than the original-round tender.

Tampa Bay promoted him to their active roster last month but waived him last week and signed him to the practice squad.

In 2018, Elliott has appeared in six games and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.
