Buccaneers Promote DE Josh Shirley, Waive/Injured OT Reid Fragel

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted DE Josh Shirley to their active roster on Saturday and waived OT Reid Fragel with the injury designation.

Fragel, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Cincinnati before catching on with the Browns, Colts, and Falcons.

After the Falcons elected to waive Fragel shortly after this year’s draft, he was claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers. Since then, Fragel has been on and off of the team’s practice squad.

Shirley, 23, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of UNLV back in May. However, he was among the Raiders’ final roster cuts at the start of the season.

Shirley later signed to the Raiders’ practice squad before joining the the Buccaneers close to a month ago.
