Buccaneers Not Promoting DT Jeremiah Ledbetter, Despite Report

Update:

Rick Stroud is now reporting that the Buccaneers will not be promoting DT Jeremiah Ledbetter to their active roster after all.

According to Rick Stroud, the Buccaneers have promoted DT Jeremiah Ledbetter from their practice squad to the active roster in time for Week 3.

With DT Beau Allen and DT Vita Vea both missing Monday Night’s game due to injury, Ledbetter provides much-needed depth to the Buccaneers’ defensive line.

Ledbetter, 24, is a former sixth-round pick by the Lions out of Arkansas in the 2017 NFL Draft. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.5 million rookie contract when Detroit elected to make him among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

He signed on with the Buccaneers’ practice squad shortly after passing through waivers unclaimed.

In 2017, Ledbetter appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and recorded 14 total tackles and 0.5 of a sack.
