Buccaneers Promote LB Josh Keyes To Active Roster, Waive TE Alan Cross

The Buccaneers announced that they have promoted LB Josh Keyes to their 53-man roster and waived TE Alan Cross and a corresponding roster move.

  • According to Roy Cummings, the Buccaneers also re-signed TE Dan Vitale to their practice squad.
  • Cummings also writes that LB Micah Awe has been released from Tampa Bay’s practice squad.

Keyes, 23, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College back in 2015 and bounced on and off the team’s practice squad.

He was unable to make the team coming out off the preseason, but was signed to their practice squad a few days after he was cut.

He also had a brief stint on the Chiefs’  practice squad before returning to Tampa Bay.

In 2015, Keyes appeared in seven games and recorded seven total tackles for the Buccaneers.
