Buccaneers Promote OL Reid Fragel, Waive G Matthew Masifilo

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially waived G Matthew Masifilo and promoted OL Reid Fragel to their active roster, according to the NFL Transactions release.

Fragel, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Cincinnati before catching on with the Browns, Colts, and Falcons.

After the Falcons elected to waive Fragel shortly after this year’s draft, he was claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers. Since then, Fragel has been on and off of the team’s practice squad.

Masifilo, 26, originally signed on with 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2012. He lasted less than a year in San Francisco, but later signed a future/reserve contract with the Buccaneers in January.

Masifilo had two years remaining on his contract and stands to make a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season. This year, he’s been active for two games.
