Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers are promoting OL Ben Gottschalk to their active roster on Saturday due to the injuries they’re currently dealing with.
Gottschalk, 24, signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of SMU back in May of last year. He was unable to make Kansas City’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to their practice squad.
After a brief stint with the Buccaneers, Gottschalk signed on with the 49ers in May of last year before he was waived during the preseason. The Buccaneers elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract this past January and later added him to their practice squad at the start of the season.
Gottschalk has yet to appear in an NFL game.
