Buccaneers Promoting RB Russell Hansbrough To Active Roster

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are promoting RB Russell Hansbrough to their active roster on Monday, according to Greg Auman.

The Buccaneers are dealing with injuries to RBs Doug Martin and Chris Sims, so this move makes plenty of sense for Tampa Bay.

Hansbrough, 22, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri. He was one of the team’s final roster cuts before signing onto their practice squad.

Tampa Bay waived Hansbrough a few weeks ago before signing him to their practice squad last week. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his four-year college career, Hansbrough recorded 467 rushing attempts for 2,344 yards (5.0 YPC) and 15 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 30 receptions for 128  receiving yards (4.3 YPC).
