Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon Fits Lovie Smith Mold Going Forward?

Buccaneers GM Jason Licht mentioned during a radio interview on Sirius XM NFL Radio’s “Late Hits’’ that QB Mike Glennon scored very high on the three attributes HC Lovie Smith and himself looks for in a quarterback.

“The three things — and Lovie and I were in complete agreement on this — are toughness, intelligence and accuracy,’’ Licht said, “And then arm strength is a distant fourth.”

Last Tuesday, Glennon said that he has known for some time that GM Jason Licht and HC Lovie Smith consider him the future quarterback of the franchise.

“Mike showed during this process that he has those three things and he scored very high on those three things. Also, he’s an unassuming type of guy but guys around the building really look up to him and really follow him. So that’s what it came down to.”

Glennon, 24, started 13 games for Tampa Bay last season throwing for 2608 and 19 TD, while completing only 59.4% of his passes.

According to Pro Football Focus, Glennon finished the season ranked as the No. 34 overall quarterback.
