Buccaneers Re-Sign DE Larry English

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they have re-signed DE Larry English to a contract.

  • The Bucs also waived DE Steven Means to make room for English and signed CB C.J. Wilson to their practice squad.

English, 28, signed with the Buccaneers in mid-August, but was released as they cut their roster down to 53 players a few weeks ago.

He has been a major disappointment since the Chargers used the No. 16 overall pick on him back in 2009. San Diego cut English loose back in July and he later worked out for the Cowboys, but didn’t receive an offer.

Last year, English appeared in nine game and recorded 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a pass defensed. Pro Football Focus has English rated as the No. 27 qualifying outside linebacker in 3-4 system out of 42 players.
