Buccaneers Re-Sign FB Alan Cross To Practice Squad, Release RB Russell Hansbrough

Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers have re-signed FB Alan Cross to their practice squad after he officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Tuesday and released RB Russell Hansbrough from the unit.

The Buccaneers’ practice squad currently consists of:

  1. LB Riley Bullough
  2. FB Austin Johnson (Exception)
  3. S Isaiah Johnson
  4. OL Mike Liedtke
  5. T Marquis Lucas (Injured)
  6. WR Freddie Martino (Exception)
  7. LB Eric Nzeocha (International)
  8. WR Bobo Wilson
  9. OT Justin Murray
  10. DT Channing Ward
  11. DB David Rivers
  12. FB Alan Cross

Cross, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year but later signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad before eventually being promoted to their active roster.

The Bucs placed Cross on waivers Monday to make room for RB Doug Martin, who has finished serving his four-game suspension.

In 2017, Cross has appeared in three games and caught two passes for 11 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
