Buccaneers Re-Sign RFA WR Russell Shepard

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially re-signed restricted free agent WR Russell Shepard to a one-year contract on Monday.

The Buccaneers used a low-round tender on Shepard that will run them $1,671,000 for the 2016 season. This designation gave them the right of first refusal on any contract offer he received, but wouldn’t have included any compensation had they elected to not match an offer.

Shepard, 25, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of LSU back in 2013. He lasted just a few months with the Eagles before he was waived and later claimed by the Buccaneers.

In 2015, Shepard appeared in 13 games and caught three passes for 28 yards receiving and a touchdown.
