Buccaneers Release CB D.J. Moore, Sign LB Jeremy Grable & OT J.B. Shugarts

Buccaneers CB D.J. Moore has informed Jenna Laine of Sports Talk Florida that he has been released.

  • Roy Cummings also reports that the Buccaneers have also signed LB Jeremy Grable and OT J.B. Shugarts.

Moore, 27, signed a one-year deal worth $730,000 with the Buccaneers back in February. Tampa Bay will free up $570,000 in cap space following this move, according to OverTheCap.com.

He appeared to be the favorite to open training camp as the Buccaneers’ starting slot corner, but that job could now go to Danny Gorrer or Leonard Johnson.

Last year, Moore was limited to appearing in just two games in which he totaled five tackles.

Shugarts, 24, signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in 2012. He would later join the Cowboys, Jets and Lions, but he was ultimately released by Detroit last week.
