Buccaneers Release CB Marcus Williams From IR With Settlement

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially released CB Marcus Williams from injured reserve with a settlement on Monday.

Williams, 27, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State back in May of 2014. He was waived from the Texans’ practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before later signing on with the Jets.

The Jets waived him a few months into the 2017 season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Texans. After brief stints with the Cardinals and Saints, Williams signed on with the Buccaneers at the start of the season but was later placed on injured reserve.

In 2018, Williams has appeared in two games and recorded three tackles for the Buccaneers.
