Report: Buccaneers May Rest WR Vincent Jackson Through Week 5

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might rest WR Vincent Jackson through the team’s Week 5 bye.

As of now, it is being reported that Jackson is pushing to play and mulling over whether or not to take a painkilling shot for the rib injury that knocked him out of last week’s loss against the New England Patriots.

The team believes that Jackson’s injury would take five weeks to recover from and might opt instead to keep him out and then use next week’s bye to get him as close to 100% as possible.

If Jackson does miss Sunday’s game against Arizona, QB Mike Glennon would be without his best weapon during his NFL debut after it was announced that he’ll be the team’s starting quarterback moving foward.
