Buccaneers Sign DL Mehdi Abdesmad & DE Hendrick Ekpe, Cut RB Blake Sims

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Monday that they’ve signed DL Mehdi Abdesmad and DE Hendrick Ekpe to contracts and waived RB Blake Sims.

  • The Buccaneers also placed DE Justin Trattou on injured reserve.

Abdesmad, 25, wound up signing on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Titans’ practice squad before eventually being called up in December.

The Titans waived Abdesmad last week.

In 2016, Abdesmad appeared in two games for Tennessee and recorded one tackle and no sacks.
