Buccaneers Sign Eight Players To Futures Deals

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Monday that they’ve signed eight players to futures contracts including:

  1. T Cole Boozer
  2. G Ruben Holcomb
  3. DE Patrick O’Connor

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Ogunbowale, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in May of last year. The Texans cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

After being released by Houston, Ogunbowale had brief stints with the Buccaneers and  Redskins before returning to Tampa Bay this past August. He was on and off of their roster this year.

During his college career at Wisconsin, Ogunbowale rushed for 1,518 yards on 319 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 60 receptions for 507 yards receiving and 15 total touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 40 games.
