Buccaneers Sign First-Round CB Vernon Hargreaves To A Four-Year Deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they’ve signed first-round CB Vernon Hargreaves to a four-year contract on Friday.

Hargreaves, 21, was taken with the No. 11 overall pick by the Buccaneers after they traded back with the Bears. Many expected the Buccaneers to address the cornerback position in round one, and they not only managed to get their guy, but also pick up some draft picks in the process.

According to OverTheCap.com, Hargreaves receives a four-year contract worth $14,177,654 to go along with a signing bonus of $8,511,020. The contract will include a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2019.

During his three-year college career at Florida, Hargreaves recorded 121 tackles, three tackles for a loss, 10 interceptions, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and 27 pass defenses.
