Buccaneers Sign Former Alabama QB Blake Sims To Practice Squad As RB

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former Alabama QB Blake Sims to their practice squad as a running back on Wednesday, according to Greg Auman.

The Buccaneers will need to make a roster move as they’re currently at the 10-man limit. Here’s how their practice squad looks right now:

  1. S Isaiah Johnson
  2. DT Channing Ward
  3. TE Tevin Westbrook
  4. G Kyler Kerbyson
  5. G Michael Liedtke
  6. DB Cody Riggs
  7. WR Myles White
  8. FB Austin Johnson
  9. WR Kendrick Ings
  10. OL Josh Allen

Sims, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Alabama back in May but it wasn’t until September that he was signed to the Falcons’ practice squad. Unfortunately, Atlanta moved on from him a week later.

During his college career at Alabama, Sims completed 275 of 430 passing attempts (64 percent) for 3,731 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also contributed 705 yards rushing on 150 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with nine rushing touchdowns.
