Buccaneers Sign K Zach Hocker

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Sunday that they’ve signed K Zach Hocker to a contract.

This comes just a day after the Bucs elected to waive former second-round K Roberto Aguayo. Hocker will get an opportunity to compete with Nick Folk for the starting job in Tampa.

Hocker, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He spent just a few months in Washington before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season.

After sitting out the entire season, the Dolphins signed him to a future/reserve contract in January of 2015. Since then, Hocker has played for a few teams including the Saints, Rams and most recently for the Bengals.

In 2015, Hocker appeared in eight games for the Bengals and converted 10 of 14 field goal attempts (71.4 percent) to go along with 12 of 13 extra point tries (92.3 percent).
