Buccaneers Sign OL Mike Liedtke To Practice Squad, Cut RB Russell Hansbrough

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed OL Mike Liedtke to their practice squad on Monday, according to his agent Brett Tessler.

  • Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers also released RB Russell Hansbrough from the unit.

The Buccaneers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Josh Allen
  2. CB Javien Elliott
  3. Isaiah Johnson
  4. DT Channing Ward
  5. TE Tevin Westbrook
  6. WR Donteea Dye
  7. WR Josh Huff
  8. DE Kourtnei Brown
  9. OL Mike Liedtke
  10. G Kyler Kerbyson

Liedtke, 24, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to Miami’s practice squad.

The Chiefs elected to sign him to their active roster in October of last year before bringing him back on a future/reserve contract. Unfortunately for Liedtke, he was waived just a few weeks after this year’s NFL draft.

The Jets later signed him to a contract in June only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason. Liedtke caught on with the Browns back in October but was cut loose a few weeks later.

The Bills also brought Liedtke for a visit last week but did not sign him to a contract.

Liedtke has yet to appear in an NFL game.
