The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed TE Dan Vitale to their practice squad on Friday, according to Greg Auman.
The Buccaneers’ practice squad now consists of:
- TE Dan Vitale
- RB Russell Hansbrough
- OL Josh Allen
- OL Ben Gottschalk
- WR Freddie Martino
- LB Josh Keyes
- CB Javien Elliott
- S Isaiah Johnson
- LB Micah Awe
- WR Jeremy Butler
This comes just a few days after the Bills waived Vitale with a failed physical designation earlier in the week.
Vitale, 22, was taken in the sixth-round of this year’s NFL draft by the Buccaneers. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $2.47 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.
The Buccaneers elected to waive him on Friday, but the Bills later claimed him off of waivers.
During his college career at Northwestern, Vitale caught 135 passes for 1,427 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns over the course of four years.
