According to Greg Auman, the Buccaneers are expected to sign DE Ryan Russell to their practice squad.
Tampa Bay brought Russell in for a workout on Tuesday, so they apparently were impressed enough to sign him to a contract.
The Patriots brought in Russell for a workout last week but did not sign him.
Russell, 24, is a former fifth-round pick by the Cowboys of the 2015 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2,482,988 rookie deal and was set to make $525,000 this year before he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
The Cowboys later signed Russell to their practice squad only to cut him loose a few days later.
In 2015, Russell appeared in one game for the Cowboys.
