Buccaneers Signing K Patrick Murray

According to Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers are signing K Patrick Murray to a contract following a tryout for the team on Monday.

This implies that the Buccaneers are releasing veteran K Nick Folk after his recent struggles.

Murray, 26, signed on with the Buccaneers on a future/reserve back in January of 2014. However, he wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was later placed on their injured reserve list after clearing waivers.

The Buccaneers, unsurprisingly, placed Murray on waivers after last year’s draft and the Browns later signed him to a contract before placing him on injured reserve a few weeks into the regular season.

Murray signed on with the Saints a few weeks ago but was recently cut loose.

In 2016, Murray appeared in 16 games and converted one of two field goal attempts to go along with three of four extra point tries.
