Buccaneers Signing RB Jacquizz Rodgers To One-Year Deal

Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers are signing veteran RB Jacquizz Rodgers to a contract on Tuesday.

  • Jenna Laine reports that Rodgers receives a one-year deal from Tampa Bay.

This comes one week after the Bucs brought Rodgers in for a workout. Rodgers previously played for Bucs HC Dirk Koetter while the two were together in Atlanta, so there’s an obvious connection between the two.

Rodgers, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2011. After playing out his rookie deal with the Falcons, the Bears signed him to a contract last year.

Chicago elected to bring Rodgers back on a one-year deal back in March, only to cut him loose last week.

In 2015, Rodgers appeared in five games and ran for 41 yards on 14 carries (2.9 YPC) to go along with a single reception and no touchdowns.
