The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing veteran S J.J. Wilcox to a contract, according to Greg Auman.
- The agreement was first reported by Steve Duemig of 620 WDAE.
- Mike Garafolo reports that Wilcox receives a two-year contract worth up to $8.5 million.
Wilcox recently visited with the Buccaneers, but reportedly had interest from the Seahawks as well.
Wilcox, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,811,068 contract with the Cowboys and was now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2016, Wilcox appeared in 13 games and recorded 49 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 safety out of 89 qualifying players.
