Buccaneers Signing WR/KR Trindon Holliday

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Buccaneers are signing WR/KR Trindon Holliday to a contract.

  • Stroud adds that the move is expected to be announced on Tuesday and this doesn’t appear to be a good sign for rookie Solomon Patton.

Holliday worked out for the Colts last Monday, but was never offered a contract. Before that, he visited with the Bears, so there has been some interest in him since the Giants released from the injured reserve list.

Holliday, 28, originally signed a one-year deal worth $700,000 with the Giants back in March, but he was placed on injured reserve over a month ago.

Holliday was an extremely productive kick returner since he signed with the Broncos two years ago. During this time, he’s totaled 1,327 kick return yards, 752 punt return yards and four touchdowns.

However, he’s had three fumbles and hasn’t been much of a contributor on offense outside of two receptions for 17 yards receiving. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 12 kick returner in the league last year.
