Buccaneers Starting RB Position Appears To Be Doug Martin’s “Job To Lose”

ESPN.com‘s John Clayton mentions that the Buccaneers starting running back job is Doug Martin‘s to lose.

I think it’s gonna be Doug Martin‘s job to lose,” said Clayton. “… I think in the end, Martin’s gonna win that starting job, and he’s probably gonna win it pretty convincingly.”

This has been the consensus from a number of people around the league, so it’s really not surprising to hear Clayton endorse Martin for the starting role. Martin has the potential to be a featured back in the NFL, which is clearly something that LeGarrette Blount‘s skill set. There’s been talk that Blount will end up being the team’s goal-line back, but he surprisingly struggled in short-yardage situations for them last year.
