Buccaneers Tried Out LB Paul Dawson

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers tried out former Bengals LB Paul Dawson on Tuesday.

This is interesting, considering that Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Dawson was expected to sign onto the Bengals’ practice squad after passing through waivers unclaimed on Monday.

However, it looks like he’s at least willing to look around and see what else is out there.

Dawson, 23, was taken in the third-round of last year’s draft with the No. 99 overall pick. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.896 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Dawson appeared in 11 games for the Bengals and recorded 12 tackles and a pass defense.
